Shadow Cat Espresso Blend - Medium
I developed this blend for those who are intending to use it for espresso at home.
After testing several roast profiles and developments, I found that the sweetest cups were found in a medium-level roast for me.
Light roasts were a bit too punchy and darker roasts were just too carbon-y after all that pressure. I've tasted great espressos, and this was the closest I could get to the sweetness I remembered from top to bottom of the shot.
Here's what I'm brewing on:
- Breville Barista Express (not sponsored/ endorsed)
- Grind size: 7.5; preheat machine 20-30 mins
- Use the best water you can find (I use 3rd wave (not sponsored)
- 18g coffee
- 36g brewed espresso in 25-30 secs.
If your first brew is too slow - grind courser
If it is too fast - grind finer
I always stir my shot to mix well, but you're more than welcome to taste the layers of flavor before mixing. If you want to add milk, have at it!
Origins: Vietnam + Brazil (different ratio) you may have seen this before in the BLK Mamba. This is much better.
Heat-sealed in a one-way valved bag.
